San Jose, Calif. - (September 19, 2007) - In their first trip to the west coast, the Fordham water polo team got the start they were looking for, as they defeated San Jose State, 18-4, in San Jose, Calif.
Despite darkened conditions around the pool area, the Rams' offense never got out of stride. Freshman Ryan Hultman led the attack with a season-high five goals, while freshman Brian Jucas scored four times. Junior Todd Conway also netted three tallies for the Rams.
Defensively, freshman Daniel Muñoz had three steals and an assist, while senior Taylor Landesman had two steals and an assist.
In net, junior Timmy Will allowed two goals in three quarters, and made five saves to go with a steal and two assists. Sophomore Tom Conroy played the final quarter in net, making four saves, after scoring one goal in the field, earlier in the match.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Thursday, September 20th, as they play at Santa Clara, beginning at 10:00 PM.
