Men's Soccer Shut Out By Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse's Kyle Hall netted a pair of goals, while Robert Cavicchia made six saves as the Syracuse Orange shut out Fordham, 3-0, in Syracuse, N.Y.

With the loss, Fordham has lost four straight to put their record at 1-4 overall, while Syracuse goes to 3-0-3.

Syracuse went up 1-0 in the first half at the 16:13 mark, as Kyle Hall scored on an unassisted goal, his second of the season. Hall beat two Fordham defenders and scored on a grounder to the left side.

Syracuse made it 3-0 very quickly at the start of the second half, scoring twice in just over a minute. Hall scored his second goal of the game at the 49:05 mark off an assist from Hansen Woodruff. Just 1:19 later, Woodruff scored his fourth goal of the season on a shot from just outside the box.

Fordham did have chances, as the Rams out shot Syracuse, 10-7 in the game. Marco Marchitelli, Einar Oddsson, and Kevin Meyer each had a pair of shots in the game to lead the Fordham attack. In net, Dan Hajducky gave up all three goals and made three saves in 66 minutes of action, while Jon Bratincevic played the final 24 minutes, seeing his first action of the season.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, September 21st, as they play at Delaware, beginning at 7:00 PM.
