Men's Soccer Falls to Brown, 3-1

Providence, R.I. - Brown's Dylan Sheehan notched his second goal of the tournament, while Jarrett Leach made three saves, as the Brown Bears clinched the Brown/adidas Soccer Classic with a 3-1 win over Fordham on Sunday.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 1-3 on the year, while Brown improves to 2-0.

Brown opened the scoring in the 26th minute, as Sheehan scored on a shot from the left side past a diving Fordham goalkeeper, Dan Hajducky.

Just six minutes later, Brown was able to notch another goal when Darren Howerton collected a pass from Iain Eldredge and blasted a shot from outside the box into the right corner of the goal at the 31:23 mark.

Fordham then got on the board just one minute into the second half. Chris Paolino was able to sneak in a quick goal past Brown goalkeeper Jarrett Leech to put the score at 2-1, off a pass from John Pardini.

Brown though would get an insurance goal by Kevin Davies in the 70th minute to seal a 3-1 win.

Brown's Leech tallied three saves in the match, while Hajducky had one for Fordham. Following the tournament, Fordham's Einar Oddsson and Kevin Meyer were named to the all-tournament team.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, September 16th, as they play at Syracuse, beginning at 1:00 PM.
