Volleyball Swept By Charlotte

Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte's Alma Arroyo notched a match-high 21 kills, while Cori Dayton had 13 kills, as the 49ers swept a three-game match from the Fordham Rams at Halton Arena in Charlotte, N.C. Final game scores were 30-24, 30-26, and 30-21.

With the loss, Fordham drops to 12-18 overall, 3-7 in the Atlantic 10, while Charlotte moves to 15-12 on the year, 5-7 in the league.

Charlotte stayed in control for the entire match, losing the lead only once in the three games. The 49ers hit .306 for the match, while Fordham managed a .190 hitting percentage.

For Fordham, Jolanda Gunning-Snowden led the offense with eight kills, while Lauren Fitzsimon had seven kills and eight digs. Katherine Burrell recorded six kills, 33 assists and four digs, with Christi Griffiths adding six kills.

The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Sunday, November 4th, as they play at George Washington, beginning at noon.
