Bronx, N.Y. - It was Senior Day for the Fordham University men's soccer squad on Jack Coffey Field today but it was a junior who stole the show. Grant Kerr netted a pair of goals, his first multi-goal game at Fordham, to lead the Rams to a 3-1 Atlantic 10 win over Duquesne University.

With the win, Fordham improves to 5-6-3 overall, 4-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Duquesne falls to 3-9-3 overall, 1-4 in the conference.

Five minutes into the game Kerr almost gave Fordham an early lead, breaking in on the left side and getting off a shot from ten yards that was saved by Duquesne keeper Patrick Finnegan.

In the 12th minute, Abe Chehebar got the Rams on the scoreboard with a picture-perfect goal. The play started with a direct kick just outside the box for the Rams, which Einar Oddsson sent into the Duquesne line. The rebound came out to Chehebar at the top of the box and he bent a shot over the crowd and into the top far corner for his second goal of the year.

Later in the period, Chris Paolino almost made it a 2-0 game, finding a loose ball in the box and getting off a shot with his back to the goal that went just over the cross bar in the 15th minute.

The game remained a 1-0 contest until the second half when Kerr picked up the first of his two goals, taking a pass from Dean Stanic and dribbling around a defender to get off a blast from ten yards that beat Finnegan on the ground in the 70th minute.

Kerr almost picked up his second goal five minutes later, getting off a blast that rattled off the cross bar and out.

In the 89th minute, Alex Trujillo made it a one-goal game, picking up a loose ball at the top of the Fordham box and beating Fordham keeper Dan Hajducky on the ground for his third tally of the year.

But seconds later, Kerr netted his second goal of the game, and third of the year, when he collected a loose ball, faked a couple of defenders and got off a shot from 15 yards on the ground that found the back of the net.

Hajducky finished with two saves in the Fordham net to improve his record to 4-5-3 while Finnegan also made a pair of saves for Duquesne.

The Rams will next be in action on Friday, November 2nd, as they travel to Kingston, R.I., to face the University of Rhode Island at 7:30 PM.
