Bronx, N.Y. - Coming into today's Fordham-Temple women's soccer game, both teams looked to continue their momentum from last weekend, as Fordham won over La Salle, while Temple posted a tie against Saint Louis.
The game turned into Fordham's continued momentum, as Kim Boulos netted two goals to lead the Rams to a 3-1 victory over the Temple Owls on Jack Coffey Field.
With the win, Fordham stays unbeaten in conference play at 2-0-2, and goes to 5-3-3 overall, while Temple drops to 5-5-3 on the year, 1-3-1 in the Atlantic 10.
Fordham netted the only goal of the first half, which came at the 27:29 mark. Erica Frizzell took a Fordham corner kick, which Katie McDermott headed down to Kim Boulos, who then headed home her third goal of the season.
With the score at 1-0 in the second half, Temple tied the game on a Fordham miscue in the 51st minute. Fordham goalkeeper Jen Byer tried to cover a long ball attempt but the ball slipped out of her hands, which Temple's Jenna Rankin collected and passed to Charisma Wright for an easy tap in goal, her fourth of the season.
The Rams then regained a 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute, as Danielle Ingram scored her first collegiate goal. On a 4-on-4 match-up, Katie Sanchez crossed the ball toward the top of the box, which Ingram picked up and blasted to the top left corner of the net.
Fordham then clinched the game on a late goal in the 88th minute, as Boulos netted her second of the game, as she collected a deflected ball and scored from 15 yards.
Fordham controlled most of the play in the game as Temple managed just two shots, compared to Fordham's 12, while the Rams had a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks.
The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, October 14th, as the Rams host Atlantic 10 opponent, Saint Joseph's University at 1:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field.
