Rams Earn #8 Spot After a 1-0-1 Weekend in Chicago

After being ranked six times last season, the Fordham women's soccer team earned its first regional ranking of the new season on Wednesday, taking the #8 position in the NSCAA Division I Women's Soccer Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings.
 
Fordham had a solid opening weekend in Chicago, posting a 1-0-1 record.  The Rams earned a 1-1 draw with DePaul in the season opener and topped Loyola-Chicago, 1-0, on Sunday.
 
Fordham is one of two Atlantic 10 schools in the first set of regional rankings, joining George Washington, who was fifth.

Brooke Salmon scored the game-winning goal on Sunday at Loyola Chicago.

 
North Carolina-Wilmington rated as the top-ranked team in the Mid-Atlantic region's first poll, followed by Hofstra, Princeton, William & Mary, George Washington, Drexel, Boston University, Fordham, Dartmouth, and Bucknell.
 
The Fordham women's soccer team will have the opportunity to move up in the regional rankings this week, as the Rams travel to Princeton for a Friday night showdown, beginning at 7:00 PM.
