Bahoshy Softball Field/Murphy Field
Capacity: 750
Hosts: Softball
Just before the beginning of the 2012 Fordham softball season, the home of the Rams underwent a major facelift, giving the Fordham softball team one of the top facilities in the conference. The Rams have responded by winning eight of the next ten Atlantic 10 Championships, including seven straight from 2013-19, bringing the team's overall total to nine (first title came in 2011).
A brand new grandstand and backstop behind home plate were installed, giving the Fordham faithful a great view to watch their Rams, along with new in-ground dugouts for the teams, as well as a climate-controlled press box. A second batting cage and bullpen area were also added in.
During that first post-renovation season in 2012, the Rams captured one of the most memorable wins in program history right here in the Bronx. Closing out the regular season against No. 3 Alabama at Bahoshy Field, the Rams scored four unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth innings to defeat the eventual national champions. Two years later, the Rams hosted another SEC squad in LSU, but that game was called due to rain in the top of the fourth with the score tied at three.
Following the Rams' second Atlantic 10 title in 2013, the infield playing surface and outfield FieldTurfTM at the Bahoshy Softball Complex, which now features a "block F" in centerfield, were replaced, as was the outfield wall, just in time to host the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship. Fordham has hosted the Atlantic 10 Championship six times overall (2005, 2009, 2014, 2018, 2023, 2024). Its most recent facelift came in summer 2024 with an entirely new playing surface, new outfield wall and backstop.
Since opening in its current location in 2000, Fordham softball is 325-137-2 at the Bahoshy Softball Complex through 2024, good for an over .700 win percentage.
The Bahoshy Softball Complex is right at the entrance to Murphy Field, which is named for Cornelius “Connie” Murphy, who was a member of the Fordham Football family who died on December 3, 1931 from injuries suffered during the Fordham-Bucknell game at the Polo Grounds on November 21st. Murphy Field, which also received a new layer of FieldTurfTM in 2013, features a practice field for both the football and soccer team, and is home to a number of Fordham's club and intramural sports.
