Biography

Was lost for the 2014 season after suffering an injury during fall camp... 2014 Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year... named first team preseason All-America by both The Sports Network and Beyond Sports Network in 2014... a 2013 All-American and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year… named to the CFPA Linebacker Watch List entering the 2014 season… the 2013 Fordham Defensive Player of the Year… led the NCAA FCS in solo tackles… led team and was fifth in the Patriot League in total tackles… tied Patriot League record by being named Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2013… became a valuable member of the Fordham linebacking corps in 2012, appearing in all eleven games… picked up valued experience as a freshman, appearing in all eleven games… brother, Chris, also played football at Fordham… named to the 2011 and 2013 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2014: Missed season with an injury.

2013: A Beyond Sports Network and College Sports Madness All-American and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year… a First Team All-Patriot League and ECAC All-Star selection… started all 14 games at linebacker as a junior… finished the season with a team-high 124 tackles, 94 solo, including 16 tackles for loss, five sacks, five forced fumbles, four quarterback hurries, three fumble recoveries and an interception… led the nation in solo tackles/game (6.7) and led the Patriot League and was eighth in the country with five forced fumbles… named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after helping to key Fordham’s win at Temple by making 11 tackles with a sack and a forced fumble... also earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Georgetown (14 tackles, sack) and Holy Cross (a career-high 15 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 FF)… notched 14 stops at Yale, 13 solo, including five for loss and forced two fumbles… named CFPA National Defensive Performer and National Linebacker Performer of the Week following the Yale game… led squad with nine stops, six solo, including a sack and forced a fumble against Villanova… finished with nine tackles, eight solo, and intercepted a pass at Lafayette… made eight stops, six solo, including a sack, against Bucknell… opened season with nine tackles, four solo, versus Rhode Island… finished with five tackles, four solo, against Columbia… made six solo stops, including one sack, at Saint Francis… recorded six tackles, four solo, and broke up a pass vs. Lehigh… also had six tackles, three solo, in second-round NCAA FCS Championship game at Towson… recorded seven tackles, four solo and one for loss, and recovered a fumble in NCAA FCS Championship win over Sacred Heart.

2012: Appeared in all eleven games at linebacker as a sophomore… Recorded ten total tackles, eight solo, including 0.5 sacks… made three solo stops in the win at Holy Cross… also had three solo tackles in the season finale versus Colgate… finished with a pair of tackles, one solo, in the season-opening win over Lock Haven.

2011: Appeared in all eleven games as a freshman… finished the season with 12 total tackles, ten solo, including one for loss… made a season-high four tackles, three solo, at Army… recorded three total tackles, including two solo and one for loss, at Georgetown… had two solo stops at Penn.

Before Fordham: Attended Valley Forge Military Academy in 2010-11 where he was a member of the football team under head coach Glenn Foley… served as a team captain and led Valley Forge to a national prep school championship… registered 37 receptions for 689 yards and eight touchdowns in 2010… a graduate of Shawnee High School in Medford, N.J., where he lettered in football and lacrosse… a member of two New Jersey state championship teams at Shawnee… named an All-District wide receiver… named to the Dean’s List at Shawnee and Valley Forge.

Personal: Son of Virginia and Ronald Hodge… older brother, Chris, was a member of the Fordham football team from 2001-03… also has an older sister, Anne Marie, and a younger sister, Carolyn… received a degree in Finance and currently working on a masters degree in Applied Statistics and Decision Making.
