CRCA Release
Bronx, N.Y. – Eight members of the 2017-2018 Fordham University rowing squad were honored today by being named a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete for the 2018 season. Additionally, one Ram was also named Academic All-Atlantic 10.

Kat Napoli was honored by both the CRCA and Atlantic 10 while seniors
Katie Dillon and
Kristen Shuman, juniors
Erin Parker and
Caroline Roncinske and sophomores
Danae Ohresser-Joumard,
Erin McGreevey, and
Erika Selakowski were named CRCA Scholar-Athletes.

To earn CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors a student-athlete has to be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility and have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career (through the fall semester/quarter for the current competition year). The rower must also have competed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event.

To be eligible for Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA or better and be a starter or important reserve for their team. The team is chosen by a vote of the league's rowing media relations directors to recognize student-athletes for their combined prowess in both the classroom and in the boat.

Napoli, Ohresser-Joumard, Parker, Roncinske, and McGreevey were members of the Fordham varsity 8, a boat which closed out the season with a third place showing at the Dad Vail Championship. The varsity 8 also finished fourth at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships.

Napoli is a Communication and Culture with a minor in Psychology while Ohresser-Joumard, who earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors this spring, has not yet declared a major. Parker, who was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in May, is majoring in Applied Accounting and Finance, while Roncinske is a Public Accounting major, and McGreevey has not declared a major.

Dillon, Selakowski, and Shuman were member of the Fordham second varsity 8, a boat which also took bronze at the 2018 Dad Vail Championships and placed fourth at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships.

Shuman, the 2018 team MVP, majored in Communications, while Dillon majored in International Political Economy with a minor in Spanish, and Selakowski had not declared a major.
