Fairfax, Va. - The Fordham track & field team wrapped up their stay at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia. The Fordham men finished tenth with 27 points, while the women were 12
th with 24 points.
Rhode Island won the men's team championship with a total of 216.5 points, followed by George Mason (172.5), VCU (93), Duquesne (70), Davidson (60), UMass (56), George Washington (55), Saint Louis (42), La Salle (33), Fordham (27) and Saint Joseph's (26).
On the men's side the Rams scored in three events on day two, starting with sophomore
Ryan Kutch, who continued his strong performance at the championship with a sixth place finish in the 5,000 meter run in a career best time of 14:49.68. Also scoring for the Rams were
Kyle Mack, who placed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles in 56.93 seconds and
Nikolas Reardon who finished fifth in the high jump, clearing 6' 5 ½".
Other individual performers included
Fritz Heinrich (16

Patrick Dineen (22
nd – 4:03.64),
Will Whelan (25
th – 4:07.81) and
Michael Campbell (27
th – 4:11.94) in the 1,500 meter run. The Rams competed in two relays on day two with the 4x800 finishing eighth in a time of 7:58.02 while the 4x400 took ninth in 3:21.07.
VCU won the women's team title with 159 points, followed by Dayton (109), George Mason (107), UMass (93.5), Rhode Island (77), Davidson (64.5), Saint Joseph's (60), Duquesne (50), La Salle (47), Richmond (38), Saint Louis (25), Fordham (24) and George Washington (4).
On the women's side, the Rams scored in five events.
Mary Kate Kenny broke the school record in the 200 meter dash for the second straight day, finishing sixth in 24.53 seconds. Kenny also placed sixth in the 100 meter dash in 12.35 seconds.
Merissa Wright finished fourth in the 800 meter run in 2:09.68 while the 4x800 relay finished fourth in 9:06.12 and the 4x400 relay placed eighth in a season-best time of 3:50.44.

th in the 5,000 meter run in a career-best time of 17:41.69 and
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski (13
th – 4:36.23),
Brynna Harum (19
th – 4:41.71),
Stephanie Leo (32

Blake Elwood (33
rd – 5:03.59) in the 1,500 meter run.
The Rams will next be in action at the ECAC/IC4A Championship May 12-13 in Princeton N.J.
