Bronx, N.Y. – Even though it's the final day of classes for the 2018 spring semester, men's basketball student-athletes
Brenton Petty and
Prokop Slanina were busy playing teacher today as they guided a group of girls from PS 71 around the Rose Hill Campus.
The trip was led by
Clare Berenato, Director of Women's Basketball Administration and Special Assistant to the Head Coach. She guided the girls around campus as Petty and Slanina described the uses of the different buildings and areas (dorms, classroom, library, Edwards Parade, etc.) and what the college experience is like. Both stressed the importance of academics and how the girls could one day be a student at Fordham.
"It was nice to be able to show off our beautiful campus on such a great day," said Petty. "It was fun to see the excitement of the girls as we described the Fordham experience. Hopefully some of them choose Fordham when it's time for college."
