CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The 10-member Women's At-Large District I First Team featured Fordham swimming & diving senior
Nele Albers (Ludinghausen, Germany).
The At-Large team was comprised of student-athletes from a variety of sports including women's swimming & diving, women's ice hockey, field hockey, women's lacrosse, women's rowing, and women's golf. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
Albers just graduated from Fordham with 4.00 GPA and a degree in computer science with a minor in Mathematics. After transferring from Marshall University, she has spent the last two seasons with the Fordham swimming & diving team, competing in the breaststroke and individual medley events, and setting the school record in the 200 breaststroke event.
Nele Albers
A two-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Albers was named to the 2018 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team after scoring in two events at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship. She finished seventh in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.92), while grabbing 12th in the 400 IM (4:27.51). She also helped the 400 medley relay team score at the championship, taking fifth overall (3:45.01).
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.
