Newport News, Va. – Fordham women's tennis standouts
Maia Balce and
Carolina Sa have earned Atlantic 10 postseason accolades, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. Ma garnered Second Team All-Conference recognition, while Sa was named to the All-Academic Team.
Balce compiled a team-best 22-9 singles record, mostly from the third and fourth positions. Balce also went 14-12 in doubles play, primarily at No. 2 doubles with partner
Gianna Insogna.
Sa, a senior finance major in the Gabelli School of Business with a 3.90 GPA, went 11-11 in doubles play, mostly from the third doubles position with teammate
Tatiana Grigoryan.
At the Atlantic 10 tournament, Balce defeated Saint Louis' Alana Bourgeois 6-4, 6-4 at third singles, and partnered with Insogna for a 6-3 victory in second doubles. Sa teamed with Grigoryan for a 6-2 win in third doubles.
