Final Results
Williamsburg, Va. – (April 5-7, 2017) – After three long days of dealing with rough weather and injuries, the Fordham men's track & field team still fought their way into the top third of the standings at the 2018 Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. Fordham placed 17th out of 63 competing teams.
The three-day event began on Thursday with a bang, when
Ryan Kutch won the opening event of the Colonial Relays, taking first in the 3,000-meter Championship event in 8:26.94.
On Friday, the Rams' scoring came in the field events, as
Ryan Riviere tied for sixth in the championship event of the pole vault, clearing 14' 7 ¼", while
Nikolas Reardon was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 21' 11 ¾". Reardon also earned a third place finish in the University event of the high jump, clearing 6' 2 ¾" with
Andrew Byrne in seventh at 6' ¾". Riviere also added a fourth place finish in the University event of the javelin throw with a distance of 141' 10".
In the Friday running events, Fordham's top performer was
Arthur Gooden Jr. and
Jared Benn, who placed 17
th (49.33) and 20
th (49.41), respectively in the 400 meter dash, while
Jack Keegan was 38
th overall in 50.40 seconds.
The 400 hurdles event saw
Kyle Mack take 28
th overall in 57.57 seconds, with
Jordon Dabney placing 49
th in the 100 meter dash in 11.36 seconds.
The Rams' top finisher in the 800 meters was Bryne Cronin, placing 60
th in 1:58.93, while in the 1,500 meter run,
Fritz Heinrich was the first Ram across the line in 4:00.55, good for 39
th.

Saturday saw the relays take center stage, as the Rams competed in five relay events. Fordham's top finish came in the distance medley relay and the 1600 meter sprint medley relay, as each took fourth overall. Fordham's team of Heinrich, Gooden,
Michael Campbell, and Kutch clocked in at 10:18.24 in the distance medley relay, while Benn, Gooden, Keegan, and
Christopher Strzelinski finished the sprint medley relay in 3:33.12.
The 4x800 relay team of
Patrick Dineen,
Sean Sullivan,
Jordan Milite, and Cronin finished eighth in 8:03.59, as did the 4x100 relay squad of Dabney,
Radny Porter Arcia, Mack, and Reardon in 44.69 seconds. The final relay was the 4x200 relay team of Dabney, Porter Arcia, Reardon, and Riviere, which placed 11
th in 1:35.64.
The Fordham track & field team is next in action April 13-14 at the Metropolitan Championships in Piscataway, N.J.
