Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham golf team finished in seventh place at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships at the Grand Cypress Golf Club.
Davidson won the team title with a final score of 891, followed by Dayton (697), Rhode Island (902), VCU (904), Richond (908), George Mason (909), Fordham (919), George Washington (922), Saint Joseph's (926), St. Bonaventure (935) and La Salle (968).
Individually, senior
James Mongey led the Rams firing a 76 today for a three-day total of 225, finishing tenth overall, seven strokes behind the leader, Mike Blasey of Davidson.
Behind Mongey was senior
Joseph Trim who carded an 80 today for a three-round total of 231, tying him for 24
th place,
Tomas Nieves also finished in a tie for 24
th place after an impressive two-under par round of 70 on day three,
Matt Schiller ended his career as a Ram with a 77 in the final round for a total score of 235, tying him for 38
th place and
Josh Madarang also shot 77 in round three for a total score of 244, good for a tie for 49
th place.
Mongey, Schiller and Trim were all major contributors for the Rams in their four years. Schiller and Trim finish with a career scoring average of 75.5, which puts them in first place on the Fordham career scoring list. Mongey finished with a career average of 76.6, which puts him in third place all-time.
Trim played 95 rounds as a Ram, putting him in sixth place on the all-time list and Schiller is right behind him in seventh place with 91 career rounds played, while Mongey is eighth all time with 88 career rounds played.
