Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham golf team sits in eighth place after one day of competition at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships at the Grand Cypress Golf Club.
Dayton and Davidson are tied for the lead in the team standings after 18 holes with a total score of 300, followed by VCU (303), Richmond (304), George Mason (305), Saint Joseph's (305), Rhode Island (308), Fordham (311), George Washington (317), St. Bonaventure (324) and La Salle (334).
Senior
Joseph Trim led the way for the Rams firing a two-over par 74 in round one, placing him in a tie for sixth place.
James Mongey opened with a 76, tying him for 18
thplace, while
Matt Schiller fired a 78 and is tied for 30
th,
Tomas Nieves shot 82 and is tied for 41
st place and
Josh Madarang rounded things out for the Rams shooting an 84, good for 48
th place.
The championship continues with 18 holes on Saturday.
