Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Fordham track & field teams competed at the Wolfie Invitational hosted by Stony Brook on Saturday, where both the men and women finished in fourth place.
The Rams had three event winners as
Mary Kate Kenny won the 100 meter dash in 12.19 seconds,
Merissa Wright won the 400 meter dash in 57.66 seconds and
Christopher Strzelinski won the 800 meter run in a time of 1:53.71.
Other top performers on the women's side included
Kathryn Kelly (3
rd – 12.46) in the 100 meter dash,
Aidan Moroz (3
rd – 58.03) in the 400 meter dash,
Brynna Harum (4
th – 2:17.32) and
Dana Beggins (8
th – 2"20.56) in the 800 meter run,
Sydney Snow (10
th – 4:47.04) in the 1,500 meter run,
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski (6
th – 10:06.79) and
Germaine Harbaugh (9
th – 10:33.49) in the 3,000 meter run,
Emily Silfies (10
th – 16.74) in the 100 meter hurdles and
Jennifer Boerke (3
rd – 1:03.96) and
Gabrielle Schreib (6
th – 1:08.00) in the 400 meter hurdles.
In the field events,
Adrianna Batista finished fifth in the hammer with a toss of 37.38m and
Maeve O'Connor placed sixth in the javelin with a toss of 21.90m. Fordham's women's 4x100 relay finished second in 48.33 seconds. The Rams finished second and ninth in the 4x400 relay with times of 3:52.09 and 4:11.35, respectively.
On the men's side, top individual performers included
Fritz Heinrich (10
th – 1:57.88) in the 800 meter run, Strzelinski (3
rd – 3:58.74) and
Patrick Dineen (8
th – 4"06.08) in the 1,500 meter run,
Will Whelan (3
rd – 9:03.94),
Matthew Roma (4
th – 9:10.14) and
Thomas FitzPatrick (8
th – 9:29.98) in the 3,000 meter run,
Andrew Byrne (6
th – 18.05) and
Jeremy Milite (9
th – 20.62) in the 110 meter hurdles and
Kyle Mack (4
th – 57.68) in the 400 meter hurdles.
In the field events,
Nikolas Reardon finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.95m and second in the long jump at 6.50m. Byrne and Milite finished seventh and eighth in the discus throw with tosses of 23.82m and 23.15m, respectively. Ryan Riveiere placed second in the javelin throw with a toss of 47.26m, while Byrne finished fifth at 35.70m and Milite finished sixth at 30.83m.
In the relays, Fordham finished sixth in the 4x100 in 44.46 seconds, while placing third and sixth in the 4x400 in times of 3:25.15 and 3:31.52, respectively.
The Rams return to action April 26-28 at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
