New Haven, CT – The Fordham golf team finished in a tie for ninth place at the Yale Invitational at The Course at Yale on Saturday. It was a one-day, 36-hole event.
Joseph Trim and
James Mongey were the top finishers for the Rams, carding rounds of 70-78 and 73-75, respectively, for a two-round total of 148, good for a tie for 19
th place.
Also competing for Fordham were
Tomas Nieves who fired rounds of 76-74 for a total of 150, tying him for 31
st place,
Matt Schiller shot 76-81 for a total score of 157, tying him for 64
th place and
Josh Madarang shot 77-85 for a total of 162, good for a tie for 77
th place.
Thomas Hayes competed as an individual and also finished in a tie for 77
th place with rounds of 80-82.
Tennessee won with a total score of 565, followed by Yale (576), Virginia (587), Cornell (591), Pennsylvania (593), Yale B (594), Brown (600), Bucknell (601), Colgate (603), Fordham (603), Lafayette (605), Central Connecticut (607), Siena (609), St. John's (611), Fairfield (616) and Holy Cross (617).
The Rams have will have a quick turnaround as they will tee it up at the Rhode Island Invitational in Kingston, R.I. on Monday April 16.
