Piscataway, N.J. – The Fordham track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2018 Metropolitan Championships on Saturday at Rutgers' Bauer Track & Field Complex where the Fordham women placed third out of 12 teams and the men finished fourth of 12 teams.
The highlight of the day for the Rams came on the men's side in the 5,000 meter run where
Ryan Kutch won the race in a time of 15:02.17.
The other win of the day came in the men's 4x400 relay where the Rams took first in 3:18.70.
The Fordham scored in 12 events overall on day two.
Leading things off for the Rams on the men's side were
Jared Benn and
Arthur Gooden Jr. who finished fourth and fifth in the 400 meter dash in times of 49.45 and 49.48 seconds, respectively.
Christopher Strzelinski placed sixth in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:54.84,
Nikolas Reardon scored in two events finishing fifth in the high jump, clearing 6' 3 ½" and fourth in the long jump at 22' 8" and
Fritz Heinrich finished eighth in the 5,000 meter run in 15:34.86.
Also competing on the men's side were
Will Whelan (12
th – 4:05.09) in the 1,500 meter run, Jordon Dabney (21
st – 11.58) and Radny Porter-Arcia (22
nd – 11.58) in the 100 meter dash, John Keegan (11
th – 50.74) in the 400 meter dash,

Patrick Dineen (15
th – 2:04.26) and
Dylan Serino (16
th – 2:05.22) in the 800 meter run, and Dabney (16

On the women's side individual scorers included
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski (4

Laurel Fisher (8
th - 4:43.57) in the 1,500 meter run,
Mary Kate Kenny (2
nd – 12.14) and
Kathryn Kelly (3
rd – 12.28) in the 100 meter dash,
Merissa Wright (3
rd – 2:15.56) and
Aidan Moroz (4
th – 2:15.72) in the 800 meter run,
Jennifer Boerke (4
th – 1:05.07) in the 400 meter hurdles, Kenny (4
th – 25.69) in the 200 meter dash and
Angelina Grebe (3
rd – 18:17.07),
Germaine Harbaugh (4
th – 18:19.01) and
Abigail Taylor (18:25.25) in the 5,000 meter run.
In the field events,
Neve Devine scored in the high jump, clearing 4' 11", good for a tie for seventh place.
Alina Kwiatkowski finished seventh in the triple jump at 33' 4". In the long jump,
Mary Kate Caucci finished 11
th at 16' 3", Kwiatkowski placed 12
th at 15' 6 ¾", while
Emily Silfies took 15
th at 15' ¾".
In the relays, the Fordham women placed second in the 4x800 relay in a time of 9:32.28, second in the 4x400 relay in 3:58.59 and fourth in the 4x100 in 48.57 seconds.
The Rams return to action Friday April 20 at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
