Day 1 Results
Piscataway, N.J. – The Fordham track and field team began competition at the 2018 Metropolitan Championship at Rutgers' Bauer Track & Field Complex on Friday where the both the Fordham men and women's squads currently sit in second place.
The highlights of the day for the Rams came in the women's 10,000 meter run with junior
Angelina Grebe winning the event in a time of 39.43.75 and in the 3,000 meter steeplechase where
Laurel Fisher finished first in a time of 11:02.26.
Also running in the 10K were
Abigail Taylor (3
rd – 40:36.42),
Kelsey Coppinger (5
th – 41:10.90) and
Kieran Hanrahan (10
th – 43:41.77).
Other individual performers on the women's side included
Sydney Snow (3
rd – 11:12.36) and
Stephanie Leo (12:24.88) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and
Adrianna Batista finished 14
th in the hammer throw at 188' 3".
On the men's side, the Rams scored in four events.
Patrick Donahue got things started finishing second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:19.24.
Matthew Roma and
Nicholas Raefski finished second and fourth in the 10,000 meter run in times of 34:27.37 and 34:52.80, respectively, and
Ryan Riviere took fourth in the pole vault, clearing 10' 5 1/4".
Riviere also placed 12
th in the javelin with a toss of 43.58m while
Nikolas Reardon finished 13
th at 133' 3".
Andrew Byrne currently sits second in the decathlon with 2,787 points, followed by teammate
Jeremy Milite who is currently in fourth with 2,606 points.
The final day of competition begins Saturday at 10 a.m.
