Hellertown, Pa. – The Fordham men's golf team opened the spring season at the Albarta Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invite on Sunday where the Rams finished in 6
th place.
Due to a grim weather forecast for Monday, the event was turned into a one day, 36 hole event. Â
Leading the way for the Rams was senior
Matt Schiller who fired rounds of 75-72 for a two-round total of 147, good for a tie for 11
th place.
Also competing for Fordham was
Josh Madarang who shot rounds of 75-74 for a total of 149 to tie for 19
th place,
James Mongey followed an opening round 79 with a second round 74 for a total of 153, good for a tie for 38
th place,
Tomas Nieves shot rounds of 76-78 for a total of 154 and a tie for 47
th place and
Joseph Trim who shot 78-77 for a two-round total of 155 and a tie for 53
rd place.
Freshman
Mithran Denbow, competing as an individual, shot rounds of 77-83 for a total of 160, putting him in a tie for 76
th place.
Rhode Island won the team championship with a total score of 587, followed by Lehigh (589), Robert Morris (592), Connecticut (594), Villanova (596), Fordham (601), Holy Cross (606), Ottawa (607), Binghamton (609), Siena (609), Bryant (610), Monmouth (613), Lafayette (615), Rider (616), Hofstra (620), Niagara (629) and Lafayette 'B' (650).
The Rams return to action Monday April 9 as they travel to Malvern, Pa. to compete in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Villanova at White Manor Country Club.
