Atlantic 10 Release
Newport News, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2018 Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team on Monday. Among those honored was Fordham sophomore Ryan Kutch, who received his first Academic All-Conference Award.
The Academic All-Conference teams are comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their athletic and academic performance. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career.
Kutch, a Finance major with a concentration in Business Economics, made the squad posting a 3.31 GPA.
The sophomore runner had an excellent winter campaign, earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for winning the 5,000 meter run at this year's Atlantic 10 Championship.
At the Metropolitan Championship, Kutch was a dual event scorer, winning the 5,000 meter run and also placing fourth as a member of Fordham's distance medley relay team.
He capped the indoor season this past weekend at the IC4A Championship, as he finished third in the 5,000 meter run in a career-best time of 14:17.49, while also placing 21st in the 3,000 meter run in 8:23.25.
