Newport News, Va. – (February 8, 2018) – With just over a week until the start of a new season, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced its preseason coaches' poll for the 2018 baseball season on Thursday.
Saint Louis is the preseason favorite, earning six first place votes and totaling 157 points, just ahead of VCU, who received three first place votes and 153 points. Rhode Island was picked third, garnering two first place votes and 146 points, followed by George Mason in fourth at 107 points.
Defending Atlantic 10 champion Davidson was selected fifth with 106 points and two first place votes, followed by George Washington (105), Saint Joseph's (95), Fordham (92), Richmond (67), St. Bonaventure (56), Dayton (46), Massachusetts (26), and La Salle (20).
The 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship will be held at Tucker Field Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia, from May 23-26.
Fordham opens its 2018 season next Friday, February 16
th, against Evansville at the Wofford Round Robin in Spartansburg, S.C.
