Piscataway, N.J. – (February 24-25, 2018) – Just one week after competing at the Atlantic 10 Championships, Fordham sophomores
Amelia Bullock and
Catherine Alabanza were both in action this weekend at the 2018 ECAC Open Championship, held at Rutgers' Sonny Werblin Rec Center in New Jersey.
Both sophomores had stellar outings against some of the best on the East Coast.
Things started on Saturday with the 100 butterfly event, an event that Bullock wanted one more crack at after being disqualified last week at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Bullock qualified third for the finals in 54.76 seconds, and then made the most of her second chance by claiming ECAC Champion status, winning the event in a school and pool record time of 53.20 seconds. The previous Fordham record was 53.42 seconds by
Shannon Lulley in 2016. Bullock's time was also an NCAA "B" cut time.

Bullock qualified first for the 200 butterfly final in 2:00.84, and then busted out her second school and pool record of the championship, winning the event in 1:58.27. She broke her previous school record of 1:58.45, set just eight days ago with another NCAA "B" cut time.
With just two competitors, Fordham claimed 18
th place in the team standings out of 24 scoring teams with 53 points.
