Track & Field Runs at Brother Jasper Invitational

Riverdale, N.Y. - Following a number of strong performances at the Atlantic 10 Championship, members of the Fordham track and field teams had one more opportunity to qualify for the ECAC/IC4A Championship as they competed at the Brother Jasper Invitational at Manhattan College Friday evening. 

The highlight of the night came in the men's pole vault where Ryan Riviere set the school indoor record, clearing 4.70m (15' 5"), besting the mark of 15' 3" previously set by Keegan Talty in 2012.

Merissa Wright was the lone qualifier for the Rams on the night as she won the 500 meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:15.93.

While other Rams competing didn't qualify, several Fordham athletes set personal bests including, Emily Silfies (3^rd – 9.86) in the 60 meter hurdles, Silfies (3^rd – 28.03) and Alina Kwiatkowski (5^th – 29.64) in the 200 meter dash, Aidan Moroz (1^st – 58.96) and Sarinnagh Budris (2^nd – 59.96) in the 400 meter dash, Leah Hickey (3^rd – 1:20.27) in the 500 meter dash, Kate McCormack (1^st – 2:18.15), Dana Beggins (3^rd – 2:21.52), Antony Misko (1^st – 1:59.99), Arthur Gooden Jr. (3^rd – 2:00.46) and Kevin Dineen (5^th – 2:01.60) in the 800 meter run, Stephanie Leo (3^rd – 3:03.73) in the 1,000 meter run, Christopher Strzelinski (1^st – 4:22.58), Patrick Donahue (4^th – 4:29.36), Patrick Norako (6^th – 4:37.70) and Thomas FitzPatrick (8^th – 4:38.18) in the mile run and Laurel Fisher (1^st – 10:07.13), Germaine Harbaugh (3^rd – 10:39.75), Kieran Hanrahan (4^th – 11:11.26) and Nicholas Raefski (4^th – 8:53.35) in the 3,000 meter run.

Other performers on the women's side included Kathryn Kelly (3^rd – 7.96) and Mary Kate Caucci (4^th – 8.53) in the 60 meter dash, Caucci (4^th - 28.32) in the 200 meter dash, Morgan Menzzasalma (4^th – 1:06.42) in the 400 meter dash, Julia Wiseman (4^th – 2:28.14), Irene Garidas (5^th – 2:31.29) and Erin Foley (6^th – 2:35.91) in the 800 meter run, Brynna Harum (2^nd – 2:59.25) and Blake Elwood (4^th – 3:06.05) in the 1,000 meter run and Katarzyna Krzyzanowski (2^nd – 10:22.54) in the 3,000 meter run.

In the field events, competitors included Kelly (2^nd – 1.50m) in the high jump, Budris (3^rd – 5.31m), Caucci (4^th – 5.24m) and Kelly (5^th – 5.08m) in the long jump and Kwiatkowski (4^th – 10.15m) in the triple jump.

On the men's side, those also in action included, Radny Porter-Arcia (2^nd – 7.31) in the 60 meter dash, Eric Cao (4^th – 9.31) in the 60 meter hurdles, Jordon Dabney (1^st – 23.82), Ryan McGraw (2^nd – 24.07), Porter-Arcia (3^rd – 24.53) and Cao (4^th – 25.46) in the 200 meter dash, Dabney (2^nd – 52.97) in the 400 meter dash, Kyle Mack (1^st – 1:07.00) and Jack Keegan (2^nd – 1:07.52) in the 500 meter dash, Byrne Cronin (4^th – 2:01.27) and Jerome Vessichio (7^th – 2:04.70) in the 800 meter run, Sean Sullivan (1^st – 2:35.24) Patrick Dineen (2^nd – 2:38.81) and Jack Regan (4^th – 2:42.71) in the 1,000 meter run, Will Whelan (3^rd – 4:26.48) in the mile run and Fritz Heinrich (2^nd – 8:37.36), Matthew Roma (6^th – 9:14.94) in the 3,000 meter run.

Competitors in the field events included, Henry Nouss (5^th – 3.95m) and Patrick Sawyer (6^th – 3.95m) in the pole vault and Eric Cao (3^rd – 5.60m) and Ryan McGraw (3^rd – 5.60m) in the long jump.

The ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track Championships take place March 2-4 at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Mass.
