New Haven, Conn. – The Fordham men's tennis team defeated Sacred Heart 4-3 at Yale University on Friday.
The Rams started the match winning what would be the decisive doubles point as
Finn Kemper and
Jeremy Chung defeated Bryan Einstoss and Cory Seltman 6-2 at second doubles and
Lutwin de Macar and
Fabian Hansch Mauritzson defeated Seiji Hosokowa and Derek Chapman 7-5 at the first doubles position.
Max Green and
Allen Thornes were up 6-5 in their match in third doubles when play was halted.
The Rams went on to split their singles matches with the Pioneers as Hansch Mauritzson cruised past Bryan Einstoss 6-1, 6-1 in third singles, Kemper bested Cory Seltman 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles and de Macar defeated Derek Chapman 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 in second singles to secure the victory.
The Rams return to action February 24 as they host Connecticut at Life Time Athletic in Harrison, N.Y.
