Kingston, R.I. – Competition at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship has concluded at Rhode Island's Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, Rhode Island, with the Fordham Rams taking fourth in the team competition.
Rhode Island captured the team title with 204 points, followed by George Mason (141.5), VCU (79), Fordham (58), UMass (56.5), Saint Joseph's (55), La Salle (54), Saint Louis (51), Davidson (44) and George Washington (36).
Fordham had a successful day two scoring in eight events.
Antony Misko, competing in his first A-10 Championship, earned Most Outstanding Rookie honors with his third place finish in the 500 meter run in a time of 1:05.35.
Brian Cook got things started for the Rams, finishing second in the mile in a time of 4:09.11, just .20 seconds off his championship record time last season.
Next up was the 800 meter run where
Louis Santelli finished fourth in 1:53.81,
Sean Phillips placed fourth in the 1,000 meter run in 2:29.02,
Ryan Kutch finished fourth in the 3,000 meter run in 8:25.88 and
Andrew Byrne placed eighth in the heptathlon, finishing with a score of 3,944 points.
Other individual performers for the Rams included
Sean Sullivan (13
th – 4:23.55) in the mile,
Thomas Slattery (11
th – 8:37.30) and
Giancarlo Cipri (18
th – 8:49.03) in the 3,000 meter run and Byrne (T10 – 1.94m) and
Nikolas Reardon (T10 – 1.94m) in the high jump.
The last two scoring events were the 4x800 and 4x400 relays. In the 4x800 relay, the Rams finished fifth in a time of 7:51.35. Fordham also took fifth in the 4x400 in 3:21.82.
