Williamsville, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis team defeated Niagara 5-1 at the Village Glen Tennis Club on Sunday.
The Rams started the match earning a hard-fought doubles point as
Lutwin de Macar and
Fabian Hansch Mauritzson defeated Taylan Ozdemir and Finnbar Adams 7-6 at first doubles,
Max Green and
Allen Thornes bested Josh Wilson and Brent Boleslav 7-5 in second doubles and
Finn Kemper and
Alex Makatsaria defeated Pere Padro Parra and Shyam Srinivasan 7-6 at the third doubles position.
The Rams cruised in singles play winning four of six matches with Green defeating Wilson 6-3, 6-2 at second singles, Kemper besting Boleslav 7-5, 6-0 at fourth singles, Hansch Mauritzson defeating Adams 6-3, 6-1 at third singles and Makatsaria cruising past Parra 6-2, 6-1 in fifth singles to clinch the match.
The Rams return to action Friday February 23
rd as they travel to take on Sacred Heart.
