Ivan Raut Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham University freshman guard/forward Ivan Raut (Kotor, Montenegro/JU Gimnazija Kotor) was named Atlantic 10 men's basketball rookie of the week it was announced by the league today. It is the second rookie of the week award for Raut this year.
 
Raut led the Rams to a pair of Atlantic 10 wins this week, capping the week by netting a season-high 25 points, shooting 8-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from behind the arc in an 80-57 win at Duquesne on Saturday. He also grabbed six rebounds and had two assists and two steals against the Dukes.  
 
In Fordham's first game of the week, Raut scored 16 points and added four rebounds in a come-from-behind 67-66 win over George Mason in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday.
 
For the week, Raut shot 58.3 percent (14-24) from the field and 47.1 (8-17) from behind the arc.
 
On the season, Raut, who is the lone Ram to appear in all 24 games, starting 23, is averaging 9.1 ppg and 3.6 rpg. He leads the Rams with 47 made three-pointers this year and also has 32 assists and 21 steals.
 
Fordham (9-15, 4-8) returns to action on Wednesday, February 14, as the Rams host the Saint Joseph's University Hawks in an Atlantic 10 contest in the Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.
