Florham Park, N.J. – The Fordham women's tennis team opened the 2018 season on a high note with a 5-2 victory at Seton Hall at Centercourt Florham Park on Saturday.
The Rams started the match taking the doubles point as
Carina Ma and
Estelle Wong defeated Luize Strike and Thandy Kangwa 6-2 in first doubles and
Tatiana Grigoryan and
Alexis Zobeideh bested Michal Matson and Melody Taal 6-2 at the second position.
In singles play,
Carina Ma defeated Anicka Fajnorova 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 in a hard fought match at first singles,
Estelle Wong bested Luize Strike 6-4, 6-1 in third singles,
Gianna Insogna edged Michal Matson 6-4, 7-6 at fourth singles and
Maia Balce cruised past Krista Cerpina 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles.
The Rams return to action Saturday February 3 when they travel to New Haven, Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac.
