Hempstead, N.Y. – Hofstra's Madeline Anderson scored on a set piece in the sixth minute, while Jenna Borresen made four saves, as the Pride downed the Fordham Rams, 1-0, at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 2-2-2 on the year, while Hofstra improved to 3-3-1.

LaMorte held the deficit at one heading into halftime, as she made a pair of diving stops later in the first half.

Fordham pressed the attack throughout the second half, outshooting the Pride, 5-3, and forcing Hofstra goalkeeper Jenna Borresen to make four saves, but the Rams could not record the equalizer, falling by a 1-0 score.
LaMorte finished with three saves for the Rams, with
Brooklyn Gonzalez being credited with a defender save in the 79
th minute.
The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, September 10
th, when the Rams host the UConn Huskies at Jack Coffey Field, beginning at 1:00 PM.
