Watch | Listen | Live Stats | Fordham Game Notes

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams continue their 2017 season, the 117th varsity season at Rose Hill, by hosting the Yale University Bulldogs on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m.

The game will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network with Gregg Caserta (p-b-p) and Corey Miller (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUVsports.org with James Corrigan (p-b-p), Tommy Aldrich (color) and Billy Reinhardt (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.

Fordham enters the game with a 1-3 record after a 45-40 loss at Bryant University last Saturday while Yale is 2-0 following a 49-24 Ivy League win over Cornell last week in New Haven.

This will be the ninth meeting between Fordham and Yale on the gridiron with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series, which started in 1950, 5-3. The Rams have taken the past two meetings, including a 44-37 win on Jack Coffey Field last October as Kevin Anderson completed 18 of 27 passes for 270 yards five touchdowns and Chase Edmonds rushed for 121 yards.

A few notes on the game:

22260
Kevin Anderson
Senior quarterback Kevin Anderson, the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, needs one touchdown pass to set a new Fordham career record. He enters the game with 69 scoring strikes, tying him with John Skelton for the career record. He tied his career-high with five touchdown passes last week at Bryant.

Anderson has 6,962 career passing yards, third best in school history.

It will be Salute to Heroes Night on Saturday as the Rams honor the service and sacrifice of our first responders and military personnel. All active/retired first responders (NYPD, FDNY, PAPD), as well as current members/veterans of the Armed Forces, will receive complimentary admission when showing proper ID at the game. They can also receive up to three additional tickets at a special $7 price.

The game will also be the annual CoachtoCureMD game where the Rams will help raise funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The entire Fordham coaching staff will be joining coaches from all across the country on Saturday in wearing a patch on their left arms to help defeat the terrible genetic disorder.

For the second straight year, the Rams will welcome Kevin Frank, who suffers from the disease, to join the captains for the coin flip.

The Fordham University football squad has not lost three straight games since the Rams lost the final three games of 2011, a streak of 66 games.

The Fordham captains for 2017 will be Manny Adeyeye, Kevin Anderson, Chase Edmonds, and Caleb Ham.

Senior running back Chase Edmonds became the school's all-time leading rusher last year and enters the game with 5,400 career rushing yards. The 5,400 career yards places Edmonds second on the Patriot League career rushing list, 221 yards behind Jordan Scott's record of 5,621 yards.

Edmonds also owns the Fordham and Patriot League career touchdown (70) and career rushing touchdown (63) records.

The scout team players of the week were announced following practice on Thursday:  Austin King (offense for defense), Ricardo Llanio (defense for the offense) and Jack Mueller (special teams).

No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 47 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart (35) and Rutgers (30), while the NFL's Giants and Jets have 39 and 34 wins, respectively, each.
