Fordham Game Notes

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams continue their 2017 season, the 117th varsity season at Rose Hill, by traveling to Smithfield, R.I., to face the Bryant University Bulldogs at the David M '85 and Terry Beirne Stadium Complex on Saturday, September 23, at 1:00 p.m.

The game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row with Tristan Hobbes (p-b-p) and Tim Lynch (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUVsports.org with James Corrigan (p-b-p), Tommy Aldrich (color) and Tom Scibelli (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.

Fordham enters the game with a 1-2 record after a home loss to #12 Eastern Washington last week while Bryant is also 1-2 after a loss at Brown last Saturday.

This will be the third meeting between Fordham and Bryant on the gridiron. The two teams split the first two meetings with Fordham winning the inaugural contest 35-7 on Jack Coffey Field in 2009 and the Bulldogs pulling out a 44-30 win at Bryant in 2010.

The Fordham University football squad has not lost back-to-back game since the Rams lost the final two games of 2011, a streak of 65 games.

The Fordham captains for 2017 will be
Manny Adeyeye,
Kevin Anderson,
Chase Edmonds, and
Caleb Ham.

Senior running back
Chase Edmonds became the school's all-time leading rusher last year and enters the game with 5,400 career rushing yards. The 5,400 career yards places Edmonds second on the Patriot League career rushing list, 221 yards behind Jordan Scott's record of 5,621 yards.

Edmonds also owns the Fordham and Patriot League career touchdown (70) and career rushing touchdown (63) records.

Senior quarterback
Kevin Anderson threw for 3,183 yards last year, the fourth best single season in school history, in his first year as a starter. His 689 passing yards so far in 2017 brings his career mark to 6,596, third best in school history. Anderson also has 64 career scoring strikes, third best all-time at Fordham.

The scout team players of the week were announced following practice on Thursday:
 Joe Ferraro (offense for defense),
Ricardo Llanio (defense for the offense) and
Dervin Hylton, Jr. (special teams).

No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 47 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart (35) and Rutgers (30), while the NFL's Giants and Jets have 39 and 33 wins, respectively, each.
