South Kent, Conn. - The Fordham University golf team completed its second tournament of the fall today by taking eighth at the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bull's Bridge Club.
Joseph Trim was the top finisher for the Rams carding rounds of 73-70 on day two to go with a 68 in round one for a five-under par 211, placing him in a tie for fourth. The 211 total bested his previous record of 214 for the lowest three-round total in program history.
After a 72 in round one,
James Mongey turned in rounds of 74-71 on day two for a total score of one-over par 217, good for a tie for 24
th place.
Tomas Nieves finished with rounds of 77-70-75 for a total score of 222, tying him for 43
rd place,
Matt Schiller finished tied for 49
th with rounds of 74-73-76-223 and
Josh Madarang shot 78-80-77 for a total score of 235, good for a tie for 94
th.
Mithran Denbow competed as an individual, shooting rounds of 84-87-77 for a total score of 248.
Central Florida won the team title with an impressive 72 hole total of 28-under 836 followed by Seton Hall (861), Connecticut (862), Rhode Island (868), Army West Point (868), Towson (869), Boston College (869), Fordham (873), Weber State (875), Rider (876), Bryant (884), Fairleigh Dickinson (888), Hofstra (893), Hartford (904), Sacred Heart (909), LIU Brooklyn (912), Fairfield (915), St. John's (922), St. Francis (923) and Holy Cross (926).
The Rams return to action Saturday, September 23, at the Quechee Invitational hosted by Dartmouth College at the Quechee Golf Club in Quechee, Vermont.
