South Kent, Conn. – The Fordham University golf team opened play at the Hartford Hawks Invitational, held at Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Connecticut ,where the Rams sit in 8th place after round one.
Monday was supposed to be 36 holes but round two was suspended due to darkness so play will resume at 8 am Tuesday morning with round three immediately following the conclusion of round two.
Central Florida led the team standings after round one with an impressive 15-under par 273 followed by Towson (283), Connecticut (285), Seton Hall (286), Rhode Island (288), Boston College (289), Army (289), Fordham (291), Weber State (292), Rider (294), Fairleigh Dickinson (295), Bryant (298), Hofstra (299), Hartford (302), Sacred Heart (302), Long Island Brooklyn (303), St. John's (310), Fairfield (314), St. Francis (315) and Holy Cross (320).
Individually
Joseph Trim led the Rams in round one firing an opening round 68, which ties
James Mongey for the low round of the year for Fordham.
James Mongey shot a 72 in round one and was followed by
Matt Schiller (74),
Tomas Nieves (77) and
Josh Madarang (78).
Mithran Denbow competed as an individual, opening with an 84 in round one.
