Hamden, Conn. – The Fordham men's soccer team picked up its third straight victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 1-0, at QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden, Connecticut.
With the win, Fordham improved to 4-2-1, while Quinnipiac fell to 1-4-1.
After a scoreless first half that saw just four total shots, the Rams broke the stalemate in the 68
th minute.
Ross Willox played a through ball to
Janos Loebe, who tapped the ball past the Quinnipiac goalkeeper in the right corner of the net, for his fourth goal of the season and third game-winner of the year.
The Bobcats had one chance at tying the game in the 74
th minute on a shot by James Doig, however
Rashid Nuhu made one of his two saves in the match to preserve the Rams' fourth clean sheet of the year.
The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Wednesday, September 20
th, when the Rams host Manhattan College for the annual Battle of the Bronx, beginning at 7:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field.
