Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham women's soccer team continues its four-match homestand this weekend, as the Rams will host Columbia on Friday night at 7:00 PM, while Hartford comes to town for an Alumni Day matinee on Sunday at Jack Coffey Field, beginning at 1:00 PM.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 17
th meeting between Fordham and Columbia. The Lions have gotten the better of the series, leading by a 10-6-0 count. Columbia won the first six meetings from 1994-2000, but Fordham has taken six of the last 10 meetings from 2001-2015. The last match-up came two seasons ago at Columbia, when Jessica Widmann scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory for Fordham.
On Sunday, it will the third-ever meeting between Fordham and Hartford. The two squads have split the prior two meetings with Fordham's win coming last season at Hartford. The Rams defeated the Hawks, 2-1, on the strength of goals by
Margaret Roughley and
Nicole Bates. Hartford's win came back in 2002 at the UConn Classic in Storrs, Connecticut.
WOMEN'S SOCCER ALUMNI GAME SET FOR SEPTEMBER 17th: The Fordham women's soccer team announced that this year's Alumni game will take place this Sunday, September 17th, prior to the Rams' contest against Hartford.
The Alumni Game will start promptly at 11:00 AM on Jack Coffey Field with a postgame reception to follow at noon where alumni, family, and friends can meet the current team and coaching staff. Food and drinks will be served. There is a $20 registration fee for adults, which includes a $10 tax-deductible gift to the women's soccer program. Children 10 and under are free. The Fordham-Hartford game is set for a 1:00 PM start to cap the day.

LAST TIME OUT: After seeing just one shot on goal in the first half, the Fordham-UConn women's soccer match turned into a frenzy for the rest of the game with four goals scored, countless chances, and big defensive plays, leaving the game as a 2-2 draw at Jack Coffey Field on Sunday afternoon.
After only one shot on goal in the first half, the frantic offense started in the 50
th minute, when UConn scored the first goal of the game. Hiedi Druehl played a long through ball to Kess Elmore, who then connected on a shot from 18 yards out, just inside the left post for her fourth goal of the season.
The lead didn't last long, as Fordham tied the game in the 54
th minute. After a foul,
Brooke Salmon took a free kick, 13 yards shy of the midfield stripe. Her long ball found
Juliana Mascelli at the top of the box, who one-touched the ball and took a shot just out of the keeper's reach to net her second goal of the season.

The Huskies went back on top in the 63
rd minute, as Melia Couzis found Elmore with a cross, who connected on her second goal of the game inside the right post from eight yards out.
Fordham would not go away, tying the game again in the 68
th minute.
Crea Baker-Durante played a ball across the field out wide to
Milan Bornstein. Bornstein collected the ball from 15 yards out and tucked in her first career goal off the right post and in, knotting the game at two.
The game would flow into overtime, which almost ended in the 99
th minute. UConn got a cross into the box 10 yards from the goal. Fordham goalkeeper
Kelly LaMorte came out, but a UConn player got a head on the cross, sending it toward the goal. However,
Margaret Roughley was able to clear the ball prior to it going over the line to keep the game tied.
In the second overtime session, the Huskies had one more opportunity on a shot by Tanya Altrui, but LaMorte came up with the save to complete the 2-2 draw.
LaMorte finished with five saves in the game for Fordham, while Mollie Kerrigan made one for UConn.
WHO'S NEXT: Following this weekend, the Rams wrap up their homestand on Thursday, September 21
st, when the Rams begin Atlantic 10 play against Rhode Island at 7:00 PM, before traveling to Massachusetts for a September 24
th match-up at 1:00 PM.
