Final Results
Simsbury, Conn. – The Fordham University golf team finished their first event of the fall season in style, capturing the team championship at the Ryan Lee Memorial Tournament hosted by Central Connecticut State at the Hop Meadow Country Club.
It is Fordham's first team title since the 2015-16 season where the Rams won the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invitational.
James Mongey Wins Individual Title
Fordham also won the individual title, as senior
James Mongey followed his career-best 68 in round one with an even par 72 today for a two-day total of 140, the second-lowest two day total in program history.
Joseph Trim shot a 72 to go with his round one 73 for a two day total of 145, good for a tie for fourth with teammate
Matt Schiller who best his round one 75 by five strokes for a two-under par 70.
Also competing for the Rams,
Tomas Nieves fired matching 74's for a two day total of 148 and a tie for 15
th with
Josh Madarang followed his career best 70 in round one with a 78 on day two.
Mithran Denbow fired rounds of 73-76 for a two-day total of 149, tying him for 21
st and
Kyle Morris finished with a two-day total of 154, good for 45
th place.
The Rams return to action September 18 at the Harford Hawks Invitational at Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn.
