Bronx, N.Y. – Alex Gordon and Clark Gordon titled their 1997 book
College: The Best Five Years of Your Life as a tongue-in-cheek guide for high-schoolers contemplating college but they very well may be speaking of a pair of Fordham football Rams who begin their fifth year at Rose Hill this fall.
Â
But for All-Patriot League quarterback
Kevin Anderson and preseason All-League defensive lineman
Manny Adeyeye the fifth year isn't so they can finish their undergraduate degree, a feat which both accomplished last year. It's so they can work on a master's degree while participating in their final year of eligibility with the football squad.
Â
Anderson, a Second Team All-Patriot League pick last year, received a degree in Business Administration last May from Fordham and begins work on a graduate degree in Media Management at the Gabelli School of Business while Adeyeye received a degree in Communications in 2017 and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Public Media at Fordham College

Notes
Â
- Anderson and Adeyeye follow in the footsteps of
Phazahn Odom, who spent a fifth year at Rose Hill last year to earn a master's degree. Odom is currently in camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Â
- Today's practice was the first in shoulder pads for the Rams, who were in helmets only for the first two sessions.
Â
- It was also the first practice session for the Rams on Murphy Field.
Â
- The Rams will have their first scrimmage of camp on Wednesday night, August 9, at 6:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field
Â
- Following practice the Rams were introduced to Ben Oliva and Hannah Thurley from
Sports Strata, a
Sport Psychology program that provides mental coaching to improve confidence, motivation and mental edge. They will work with the Ram this fall.
