Bronx, N.Y. – As we approach the end of the 2017 Fordham football fall camp we wrap up our position-by-position look at the Rams by taking a look at the kickers.
Â
Fordham lost both of last year's starting kickers, punter
Joe Pavlik and placekicker
Makay Redd, to graduation. Pavlik closed out his career ranked fourth on the Fordham all-time punting yards list (7,485 yards) and fourth on the all-time punts list (188) while Redd connected on eleven of his 16 field goal attempts and 49 of his 52 PATs.
Â
The Rams return two kickers with experience, led by senior
Alejandro Cardenas. Last year, Cardenas handled the kickoff chores, kicking off 44 times for 2,383 yards and he was also three-for-three in PATs.
As a sophomore in 2015, he was three-for-five in field goal attempts with a long of 44 yards, and a perfect 11-for-11 on PATs.
Â
Also back at kicker is junior
Kyle Facibene, who handle some of the kickoff duties last year, kicking off ten times for 538 yards.
Â
Freshman
Andrew Mevis is also fighting for the starting kicking position. He comes to Fordham from Warsaw Community High School in Warsaw, Indiana, where he was a 2016 Under Armour All-American game participant, kicking a 46-yard field goal in the game, and he was a 2016 Kohl's Kicking All-American.
Â
The Rams also have a pair of long snappers on the roster in senior
James Orfini, who saw action in all eleven games last year, and freshman
Paul Williams, a product of Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut.
