Bronx, N.Y. – As we enter week two of Fordham football fall camp we continue our position-by-position look at the 2017 Rams as we check out the wide receivers and tight ends.
Â
Fordham returns three of the top four pass catchers from 2016 (one of those being running back
Chase Edmonds) and seven total players who caught at least one pass last fall.
Â
Leading the returners is junior
Austin Longi, a second team All-Patriot League selection in 2016, who hauled in 59 passes for 774 yards, both team-highs, and six scores. He was fifth in the Patriot League in receiving yards/game (70.4), receiving touchdowns and receptions/game (5.3).
Â
He is joined by fellow junior
Corey Caddle who caught 32 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns last year, ranking third on the squad in all three categories.
Â
Also back is junior tight end
Isaiah Searight, a second team All-Patriot League selection in 2016. Last fall, he grabbed 13 passes for 181 yards and two scores.

Jonathan Lumley,
Jordan Allen,
Andrew Prince, and
Noah Nix. Last year, Lumley caught five passes for 86 yards before his season was cut short by injury, including hauling in three passes for 60 yards in the season opener at Navy. Allen saw action in nine games as a sophomore, recording five receptions for 135 yards and one score, including an 82-yard scoring strike in the win over Elizabeth City State.
Â
Prince appeared in five games last year, catching one pass for five yards, while Nix saw his 2016 season limited by injury.
Â
Other returning receivers include sophomores
Joe Ferraro and
Jonah Isaac.
Â
Incoming freshmen who look to contribute this year include
Hunter Harris,
Hamze Elzayat,
Brendan Donlon and
Krishtjan Frrokaj. Harris is a graduate of Detroit Loyola High School where he was a 2016
Detroit Free Press All-State and 2016 First Team All-Detroit Catholic League selection, while Elzyat is a product of Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, where he was named 2016 MLive First Team All-State and
Detroit News First Team All-Metro. Frrokaj graduated from Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Connecticut last year where he moved from wide receiver to quarterback, compiling more than 3,400 passing yards and 29 touchdowns in his high school career. Donlon comes to Fordham from Middletown South High School in Middletown, N.J.
Â
At tight end, senior
James Orfini and junior
Andrew Force return to back up Searight. Orfini appeared in all eleven games last year, both at tight end and on special teams, while Force was sidelined with an injury. Freshman
Jack Lynch, a product of Berlin High School in Berlin, Connecticut, also figures in to the tight end rotation.
