Newport News, Va. – Make it 19 weekly Atlantic 10 honors for the Fordham softball program, extending an already established program record, with Monday's announcement that senior
Lauren Quense has been named Pitcher of the Week for a sixth time.
The senior hurler picked up win number 20 on Saturday, tossing seven full frames and allowing just two runs, on two solo home runs, on three hits and one walk, while striking out five. Quense became the fifth Ram to ever reach 20 wins.
The Langhorne, Pa. native is posting career numbers across the board after this past weekend, with a 20-8 record, 2.07 ERA, and 113 strikeouts across 182.2 innings. The complete game was Quense's 15
th of the year to go along with her four shutouts.
Quense was recently named a 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, as well, for her efforts off the field, and is up for All-American status in the coming weeks.
The Rams clinched their fifth-ever A-10 regular season championship over the weekend and will "host" either Dayton or Saint Louis on Thursday at noon as Fordham looks to make it five straight conference titles.
