The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Baseball Team has been announced, and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Among those honored was Fordham infielder
Matthew Kozuch (Glen Rock, N.J.).
This marks the second time that Kozuch, a Public Accounting major with a 3.86 GPA, has earned Academic All-District honors, as he also did so as a sophomore in 2015. It is also the third straight season that a Fordham baseball player has been named Academic All-District, joining
Ryan McNally in 2016 and Kozuch and Joey Runco in 2015.
A two-time Academic All-Atlantic 10 selection, the senior has started all 41 games this season for the Rams, the only Fordham player to do so. He is batting .287, which is currently third on the team, with a team-high 43 hits. He also has 11 doubles and 17 runs scored, both of which are good for second on the squad, to go along with 14 RBI.
Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
