Swarthmore, Pa. – The Fordham women's tennis team picked up its second win against a conference opponent in as many days as they defeated La Salle 7-0 at Swarthmore College Saturday afternoon.
The Rams opened the match taking the doubles point as
Carina Ma and
Maia Balce defeated Brittany Poje and Ali Snyder 6-3 in first doubles,
Carolina Sa and
Whitney Weisberg bested Jade Smith and Ally Santorelli 7-5 in second doubles and
Alexis Zobeideh and
Destiny Grunin cruised past Jayla Smith and Maansi Malhotra 6-0 in third doubles.
It was another clean sheet for the Rams in singles play as
Carina Ma defeated Brittany Poje 6-3, 6-0 in first singles,
Gianna Insogna beat Ali Snyder 6-0, 6-1 second singles,
Destiny Grunin cruised past Ally Santorelli 6-1, 6-1 in third singles,
Alexis Zobeideh defeated Jade Smith 6-0, 6-1 in fourth singles,
Carolina Sa picked up her first singles victory of the season with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Jayla Smith in fifth singles and
Whitney Weisberg had a strong showing in her first singles match of the year, defeating Maansi Malhotra 6-2, 6-2 in sixth singles.
The Rams wrap up their road trip tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Kingston, R.I. for a battle of the Rams at 12 p.m.
