Philadelphia, Pa. - Members of the Fordham track & field team were in Philadelphia for the annual Penn Relays this weekend, held at Franklin Field.
Fordham competed in six events, which began on Thursday with the women's 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.
Gabriella Gavalas,
Nkeka Pinheiro,
Laura Jaeger and
Mary Kate Kenny just missed an ECAC qualifying time in the 4x100, finishing 54
th overall in a time of 48.87. Next up was the women's 4x400 relay where
Aidan Moroz,
Morgan Menzzasalma, Pinheiro and
Merissa Wright took 36
th place with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:51.76.

On Friday, the men's distance medley relay took to the track. Fordham's group of
Louis Santelli,
Jared Benn,
Fritz Heinrich and
Thomas Slattery finished 17
th overall with a season-best time of 10:08.71.
Also in action on Friday was
Gabriella Gavalas who finished 19
th in the triple jump with a leap of 37' 3 ¾".
Then in Saturday's competition, Fordham ran in both 4x800 relay events. The women's team of
Aidan Moroz,
Shanna Heaney,
Kate McCormack and Wright qualified for the ECAC Championship, posting a time of 8:58.41, good for 5
th overall.

On the men's side, Fordham's group of Santelli,
Sean Phillips,
Devin Rocks and Heinrich finished 12
th overall in an IC4A qualifying time of 7:40.17.
The Rams will next be in action on May 6-7, as they compete at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship, hosted by Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass.
