Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham men's tennis team's (11-9) season is over after it lost to #6 seed Saint Joseph's, 4-1, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida on Thursday afternoon in the 2017 Atlantic 10 tournament. The Rams entered as the #11 seed.
The Rams started the match well, snagging the doubles point with victories in the second and third positions.
Allen Thornes and
Tomas Cosmai defeated John Nogalski and Oscar Pachon 6-3 in second doubles, while
Nick Borak and
Joseph Kavaloski took down Justin Nogalski and Paarth Dodhiawala 6-3 in third doubles.
But that would be it for the Rams as the Bilikens came out on fire in singles play, snatching the first four singles points to clinch the match.
Jeremy Chung fell to Pachon 6-1, 6-3 in sixth singles, Borak dropped his match with Parry 6-2, 7-5, after taking the first set Cosmai fell to Calero 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 and John Nogalski clinched advancement for the Bilikens defeating
Fabian Mauritzson in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
