Women's Results
Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Fordham track & field team made the short trip to Stony Brook on Saturday for the Wolfie Invitational. The Rams finished third in the men's competition, while the women placed fourth.
Overall, the Rams had one event winner and one IC4A qualifier. Fordham had a total of 22 runners score in the team competition.
On the men's side,
Andrew Byrne won the high jump, clearing 6'2".
Jared Benn finished second in the 200 meter dash finishing in an IC4A qualifying time of 22.02 seconds. Benn also placed second in the 100 meter dash in 11.28 seconds.
Also scoring for Fordham on the men's side were
Nik O'Brien in the 3,000 meter run (6
th – 8:52.20),
Fritz Heinrich (4
th – 1:55.28) and
Sean Sullivan (6
th – 1:59.41) in the 800 meter run and
Ryan Kutch (2
nd – 4:01.28),
Sean Phillips (3
rd – 4:01.77) and
Thomas Slattery (6
th – 4:03.62) in the 1,500 meter run.

In the field events,
Andrew Byrne and
Vaughan Taylor scored in the long jump, finishing fifth and sixth in jumps of 19' 2 ½" and 19' 2 ¼", respectively and
Jeremy Milite scored in the discus throw, finishing sixth with a distance of 66' 11". Byrne also won the high jump, clearing 6' 2" and
Nicholas Regan was victorious in the javelin with a throw of 176' 2". Taylor and Milite finished third and fifth in the javelin with throws of 147' and 104' 1", respectively.
On the women's side,
Josephine Jacob-Dolan and
Kate McCormack scored in the 3,000 meter run, finishing third and fourth with times of 10:20.88 and 10:23.95, respectively,
Aidan Moroz (2
nd – 58.82) and
Nkeka Pinheiro (6
th – 59.92) scored in the 400 meter run,
Morgan Menzzasalma scored in the 400 meter hurdles, placing fifth in 1:07.18 and
Kylie Farrell took fifth in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 15.71 seconds.

The Fordham women also excelled in the field events with
Gabriella Gavalas leading the way scoring in the triple jump and long jump, placing third and fifth, with distances of 36' 4" and 16' 8", respectively.
Alina Kwiatkowski also scored in the triple jump with a leap of 34' 1 ½".
Neve Devine scored in the high jump, clearing 5' 1", good for a third place finish.
The Rams scored in two relay events with the women's 'A' 4x100 relay finishing 3
rd in a time of 49.07, the 'A' 4x400 team placed second in 4:02.57 and the 'B' relay took fourth in 4:09.09. On the men's side, Fordham's 'A' 4x400 relay scored, finishing third in a time of 3:31.00 and the 'C' relay took sixth in 3:40.89.
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action at the Penn Relays, which will take place April 27-29.
