Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly tennis awards on Tuesday with two Rams picking up weekly accolades, as senior
Tomas Cosmai was named the conference's Player of the Week, while freshman
Fabian Mauritzson was selected as Rookie of the Week.
It is the first weekly honor of the season for Cosmai, while Mauritzson receives the honor for the second consecutive week.
Cosmai went 2-0 in his matches to help Fordham defeat Siena College 6-1 on Senior Day. Cosmai defeated the Saints 6-1, 6-2 in first doubles and then teamed with freshman
Allen Thornes for a 6-0 victory in second doubles.
Mauritzson also went 2-0 in his matches, defeating the Saints 6-1, 6-1 in third singles and teamed with sophomore
Victor Li for a 6-3 victory in first doubles.
Cosmai, Mauritzson and the rest of the men's tennis team return to action April 22 as they travel to Washington D.C. to take on George Washington.
