Kingston, R.I. - The Fordham University golf team completed its fourth tournament of the spring season today, taking third at the Rhode Island Invitational at Quidnessett Country Club.
Joseph Trim was the top finisher for the Rams, carding a one over par 73 in the final round for a total score of 218, placing him in a tie for fourth.
Also competing for the Rams were
Tomas Nieves who turned in a third consecutive round of 74 for a total of 222, good for a tie for 12
th,
James Mongey who fired a 74 in round three for a three-day total of 224 and a 19
th place finish,
Matt Schiller who shaved three strokes off today for a 73, good for a total of 225 and a tie for 20
th place and
Oscar Cabanas who shot a final round 75 for a three-day total of 233, tying him for 38
th place.
Thomas Hayes, competing as an individual, finished with a three day total of 232, good for a tie for 36
th place.
The host school Rhode Island won the tournament with a final total of 876, followed by Bryant (884), Fordham (887), Drexel (893), Wagner (901), Delaware (908), St. Bonaventure (910), Central Connecticut (917), Saint Peter's (920), St. John's (928), Iona (929), Lafayette (937), Niagara (939) and Holy Cross (944).
The Rams will have a week off before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championships April 28-30, held at the Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
